Riders set their own availability. But when someone messages you at 9pm to say they're out and can't get to a screen, you can set it for them.

Open the ⋮ menu on that rider's row and set the status — Available or Unavailable.
Use it as an override, not a routine
⚠️ Their own settings are the source of truth
A rider's availability feeds the whole club's planning — the coverage figures your commissioner uses, and whether other clubs can borrow them. If you routinely set it for people, that data drifts away from reality and nobody notices until a race night goes wrong.
Encourage riders to keep their own profile current. Override when they genuinely can't.
What each status does

| Active | Set automatically when you save a line-up |
| Inactive | Set by a commissioner — a rider on a break who keeps their place without using a roster spot |
If a rider is taking a break
Don't remove them from the team. Ask your commissioner to mark them Inactive instead: they stay on the club's books, don't consume a roster spot, and don't reappear in the free agent pool for another club to claim.
